Authorities in Terekeka County said 9 people were killed by unknown gunmen in Tale area in Central Equatoria State.

The Commissioner of Terekeka County, Jacob Gore told Eye Radio that victims were traveling in a lorry transporting goods from Western Equatoria state.

Gore said that the assailants appeared and shot them without questioning last evening.

“These unknown gunmen did not even stop the car to ask for anything they just fire rounds on the car. After realizing that these people were dead the gunmen fled. The chiefs and the security agents in the area are tracing foot tracks and we are not accusing anyone.” He said.

Gore said that the authorities from Western Equatoria and his county are involved in the search for the attackers.

He urged the relatives of the victims to be patient and allow the government to carry out the investigation.
