Upper Nile governor has set a trip to Nasir County where more than seventeen people including thirteen SSPDF soldiers were killed in a violent allegedly triggered by extra-marital affairs last week.

This is according to his press office.

Governor Odhok’s is being accompanied by top state government officials and members of security committee in a bid to foster peace and stability in the area.

According to governor’s official Facebook page, James Odhok Oyay was this morning set to travel from Doma to Ulang and Nasir Counties.

His journey began on Sunday when he visited several key areas along the Sobat River including Baliet, Gelachel, and Doma.

During his stopovers, he directly engaged with the people at the grassroots to promote peace.

Last Friday, the army spokesperson confirmed that thirteen SSPDF soldiers were killed in the Nasir’s Wednesday’s violence allegedly triggered by extra-marital affairs.

According to Major General Lul Ruai, the clashes revolved around a married woman who allegedly engaged in an adulterous relationship with two servicemen from the SSPDF.
