The Ministry of Youth and Sports has scheduled South Sudan’s International Youth Day celebration for Saturday, 15 August 2026, at the Dr. Garang Mausoleum in Juba.

The event will start at 9 a.m. and bring together young people, government officials, development partners, civil society organizations, youth-led groups, athletes and cultural groups.

Youth and Sports Minister Atong Kuol said this year’s theme reflects the diverse situations facing young people and their shared aspirations for peace, opportunities, inclusion, resilience and a brighter future.

“The event will bring together young people, government officials, developmental partners, civil society organizations, youth-led organizations, athletes, cultural groups, and other stakeholders to recognize the vital contribution of young people to peace building and national development,” Minister Atong said.

Atong called on young people across South Sudan to actively participate in the celebration and reaffirm their commitment to peace, unity, innovation, responsible citizenship and national development.

She called on young people and other stakeholders across the country to take part in the celebration.

“The Ministry of Youth and Sports, in collaboration with the South Sudan National Youth Union, calls upon young people across South Sudan to participate actively in the celebration and use the occasion to reaffirm their commitment to peace, unity, innovation, responsible citizenship and national development,” Atong said.
