The commissioner of Magwi County in Eastern Equatoria State says it is now calm in Pageri, after Tuesday attack.

The incident briefly interrupted traffic along the Juba-Nimule road.

The SPLA accused the SPLM in Opposition of the attack. But the SPLM-IO confirmed it was involved in the fighting but denied it attacked first.

“As we speak now the situation is now calm. I think we should take time and report any suspected movement of unknown people,” said Commissioner Ben Kingston.

Attempts by Eye Radio to get casualty figures has been unsuccessful.
