The Vice President says the government is introducing performance contracts to all government employees in order to improve efficiency in service delivery.

James Wani Igga says the performance contracts, which will be used to assess the performances of public servant annually, will start with him as Vice President.

‘‘…and after evaluation, the President can renew my contract for another one year if my performance is good, and if it is not good, then I can be sacked.” He said.

“Ministers and Deputy Ministers will get PC from the President; the Undersecretaries will receive their performance contracts from the Minister. Directors and Director-Generals, Inspectors and office messengers will get their pc from the ministry. But for the President, has his contract with the people of South Sudan and with God of course.” He added.

The Vice President was addressing staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Juba.

Igga said most civil servants waste time watching Television during working hours. He warned that this will be allowed continue.
