Over forty drivers of public transport have boycotted Lologo route due to poor road.

They say the road from Juba to the area has not been maintained.

The boycott has entered its second day.

Two of the drivers who spoke to Eye Radio, urged the Juba City Council to repair the road using the money that it collects from public on a daily basis.

: “We want the Juba City Council to look into the issue of this road, because there are so many roads that they have worked on for example, Jebel road, 107 road and many others. If we can ask, are we not under the Juba City Council? What we want from them is to repair our road. Let them repair it for us because we do give them money. If Lologo is not under their jurisdiction, then they should not collect money from us.” One Driver said.

: “We don’t want them to collect money from us, always 10 pounds. Traffic police can take money from us”, another Driver added, “but officials from the Juba City Council always come and threaten us. If they collect 10 pounds from us and repair the roads, we will have no problem at all, but they collect the money without repairing the roads.”

Officials from the Juba City Council declined to comment.
